A movement called Promise Keepers is sweeping our nation like a wildfire. Is it of God, or man? Will it solve the problems of those who have embraced its principles and teachings, or will it compound those problems? Can a Biblical answer be given to those important questions now, or is it best to withhold judgment until a later time?

Obviously, some very conflicting views already exist as to the basis, programs, benefits and goals of the Promise Keepers movement. This report is based upon the actual words of its leaders made in public meetings, contained in press releases, or printed in books, magazines and articles which have either been published or endorsed by leaders of the Promise Keepers movement. It is obvious that this movement is superbly organized and has tremendous financial resources at its disposal. The way it has caught on since its formation in 1990, and its ambitious plans for expansion in the future, require our immediate response and warning.

Fact or Fiction?

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things." (Romans 1:20-23)

These inspired words of God should be posted over the door to every science and biology lab in every state university in America. Every person born into the world is born with enough conscience to tell him that God created the Heaven and the Earth. If you do not believe that God created the Heaven and the Earth, then it is because you've allowed someone to educate you out of your faith in God's word. You have been tricked into forsaking the Bible by placing your faith in a man-made religion called "Evolution."

“The Lost Tomb of Jesus”

Terry Watkins, Th.D. Dial-the-Truth Ministries

Here we go again. . .

Another challenger . . .

Another knockout . . .

After the failure of the delusional Da Vinci Code to challenge the Lord Jesus Christ of the scriptures, the goofy Gospel of Judas was hastily “resurrected” to battle the solid rock of scriptures. And like a 900-ton hammer (Jeremiah 23:29) the scriptures crushed the challengers to smithereens.
So now, the defeated skeptics regroup enlisting the prestigious Emmy award-winning filmmaker Simcha Jacobovici and Oscar winning “Titanic” and Read the rest of this entry »

Dr. Terry Watkins, Th.D. Dial-the-Truth Ministries

As the soon coming of the Lord Jesus is becoming more apparent every day, the ferocious attack at Bible Believing Christians is becoming more mainstream, more open and much more depraved. Just a few short years ago, there was a God-fearing respect for the Bible Believing Christian and the things of God. But no more. . .

Two of the surest signs of the soon coming of the Lord Jesus is the unmerciful assault on Bible Believing Christians and the loving acceptance of the vile sin of homosexuality. Both are occurring like a speeding bullet. And both are unmistakable signs prophesied in the Word of God.

In Matthew 24:3, the disciples asked the Lord Jesus, “. . .Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” The Lord Jesus Christ describes today’s world with more precision than the evening newscast. There shall be “false Christs (vs 5). . . wars and rumours of war (vs 3). . . famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places” (vs 7) .

And in verse 9, the Lord Jesus says:

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
Matthew 24:9

The Bible Believing “right-wing” Christian is the most attacked, ridiculed, persecuted and hated person on the planet. And it will get worse.

Mel Gibson’s much anticipated The Passion officially opened in theaters on Ash Wednesday, February 25, 2004. Never in history has any movie so captured the attention and adoration of the Christian community. No movie, no movement, no sermon, no revival, no event – nothing in modern history has created such a moving among the Christian world.

The first day The Passion grossed over $25 million dollars. And there appears no slowdown. After 5 days, it has now grossed over $125 million dollars. The Passion generated an unbelievable $10 million in advance sales. Many churches leased complete movie theaters to show The Passion. Some churches have rented theaters until March.

Churches and prominent Christian leaders around the world are heralding The Passion as the greatest evangelical event in modern history – maybe ever. Many are crowning The Passion as the greatest presentation of the crucifixion in history – including the Word of God.

So what's the point of this comparison? It shows that the Book of Mormon has committed plagiarism by utilizing our beloved Final Authority (THE KING JAMES BIBLE) without "giving credit to whom credit is due." Is the Book of Mormon a direct revelation from God? Not a chance! To say that the Book of Mormon contains THE TRUTH is like saying that you found a diamond ring in a trash can. –the administrator of the Bible Believers' Home Page.

[from a 60 page booklet written by the author in 1906]

“A man,” ’tis said, “should never be ashamed to own he has been in the wrong, which is but saying in other words that he is wiser today than he was yesterday.” The writer of this tract was for ten consecutive years the officiating Rabbi of the Jewish Reform Congregation of Dayton, Ohio.

He lapsed into Christian Science, went through class under Edward A Kimball, Chicago, Ill., and through the prescribed courses of lectures in the Metaphysical College of Boston which granted him a certificate – C. S. B. – to teach Christian Science. He practiced it as first Reader and teacher in the Christian Science church of Dayton, Ohio altogether for nearly three and a half years. In those three and a half years he was in that Cult, he went through class instruction, then practiced C. S., then went to the Massachusetts, Metaphysical College in Boston for two series of Christian Science instructions, then returned from Boston to Dayton, Ohio where he practiced and taught Christian Science, then became first Reader of the 2nd church Christ Scientist, and later first Reader of the 1st church Christ Scientist. He also contributed some articles to the “Christian Science Weekly” paper in Boston and a number of weekly articles in the “Dayton, O., Evening Herald;” also one or two lengthy articles to the periodical “The Christian Science Journal,” published at Boston, Mass. He also introduced a number of C. S. lecturers to the platform in Ohio, all this occurred within the above named time between January 1900 and April 1903. Mrs. Eddy intended him to become a leading Christian Science Lecturer for the public platform according to her letter in his possession. The author is glad at this opportunity to add a few words of gratitude to the Lord who has blessed this testimony beyond his fondest expectation.

1. The Jews, as a nation, began with signs (Rom. 4:11; Exo. 4:8, 9, 17, 28, 30; 7:3; 8:23; 10:1-2; 13:9; 31:13, 17; Deut 4:34; 6:22).

2. The Old Testament Jews lived by signs (Deut. 11:18; Jos. 4:6; 1 Sam. 10:7; 2 Kgs. 19:29; Isa. 7:14; 38:7, 22; Ezk. 4:3; 20:12, 20).

3. The Jews demanded signs from the Lord Jesus Christ (Mat. 12:38; 16:1,2,3,4; 24:3; Jhn. 2:18; 6:30).

4. The Jews require a sign, not the Gentiles (1 Cor. 1:22; Jhn. 4:48).

5. According to the Lord Jesus Christ, the gifts of tongues and healing are signs (Mark 16:16,17,18,19,20).

6. These signs were for the purpose of confirming the word of God (Acts 14:3; Heb. 2:3-4).

7. These signs are spoken of in the past tense in 2 Corinthians 12:12 and in Hebrews 2:3,4, not in the present or future tense.

8. Those who still look for signs and wonders today are on dangerous ground for the Antichrist will deceive the world with signs and wonders (Rev. 13:13-14; 2 Thess. 2:8,9,10,11,12).

9. The Lord Jesus Christ said that an evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign (Mat. 12:39).

10. The Bible speaks of various spiritual gifts to believers, but tongues and healing are never emphasized more than the other gifts (1 Cor. 12:4-11).

The name Buddhism comes from the word “budhi” which means “to wake up.” This philosophy originated in the experience of a man named Siddhata Guatama(Buddha) nearly 2500 years ago in northern India.Buddhism has been compared to the 16th Century Protestant Reformation in that it was an offshoot of Vedantic Hinduism. While there are many forms of Buddhism collectively they are made up of nearly 350 million adherents worldwide (1.8 million in America in 1995 according to the Encyclopedia Britannica 1999 ed.). “Buddhism seems to have arrived in America sometime in the 19th Century. Emerson and Thoreau were touched by it. According to Peter Matthiessen, the first Zen master known in America arrived in the 1890s, and shortly afterward, D. T. Suzuki began a long career of translating texts and writing about Buddhism. Buddhism arrived in this country a second time after a wave of Tibetan lamas (driven out by the Chinese invasion of 1956) arrived in America the 1970s, set up schools and publishing houses, and began teaching on a wide scale.”

The word “Hindu” is of Persian origin and means “Indian.”  Hinduism claims nearly 1 billion followers worldwide.  Approximately 80% of India’s population is Hindu. There are approximately 1.3 million Hindus in North America according to a 1993 census in Encyclopedia Britannica 1999.  There are approximately 200 Hindu temples or Hindu centers in the U.S. (  Hinduism is the root of Buddhism as Buddha (Gautama) was raised in Hinduism and drew heavily from its philosophies. Hinduism by its nature is eclectic, as it has no definable beginning or founder. Hindus have a saying: “Ekam Sataha Vipraha Bahudha Vadanti,” which may be translated: “The truth is One, but different Sages call it by Different Names” Hinduism like all other non-Christian religions accept various ideas of “God” and cannot define a true saving relationship with the God of heaven and creator of us all.

I). History and Roots of Hinduism:

Hinduism’s Roots Are From 2 Systems:

  • 3rd Century B.C. ancient civilization in the Indus River Valley
  • The Aryan people (a group of wandering nomads from Persia of Indo-European language) who came to the Indus Valley around 1500 B.C.

Its Roots Are Vedic.

“Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.” (Rev. 9:21) “And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were he great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.” (Rev. 18:23)

The above scripture comes from the book of Revelation, the final book of God’s word, which deals with the end-time. One might expect murder, fornication, and theft to be widespread sins in the last days because we see a continual increase of these sins with every passing year. But notice that a fourth sin is mentioned as well: sorcery. According to God’s word, we can expect to see an increase in sorcery as the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ draws near.

The Bible Versus The Roman Catholic Church “And they worshipped the dragon…” Revelation 13:4

To speak out today about the Roman Catholic faith (and the Roman Catholic Church, Vatican, and Papacy) is not a popular thing to do. It has cost many millions of people their lives throughout the centuries, through the means of holocausts, inquisitions, crusades, massacres, etc. Nonetheless, people need to be warned, because Roman Catholicism is leading many to damnation. Jesus told us that the majority of people would enter in through the wide gate to destruction (Matthew 7:13 ), and this perfectly describes the Roman Catholic Church, whose followers number in the millions around the world. Many Roman Catholics are very sincere in their belief that their church is “the one true church Christ founded”, but beloved, they are sincerely WRONG. Please continue reading to see why.

Seventh-Day Adventism
By Wm. C. Irvine and A. McD. Redwood

The Genesis of Seventh-Day Adventism

Seventh-Day Adventism, Christian Science, and Theosophy have one thing in common at least–they all had hysterical, neurotic women as their Founders! Mrs. Ellen G. White was the founder of the “ism” of this article, though she got her cue from one William Miller of Low Hampton, N. Y., U.S. A. Concerning Mrs. White, “Dr. William Russell, a chief physician in the Seventh-Day Adventist Sanatorium at Battle Creek, long a Seventh-Day Adventist, wrote in 1869 that Mrs. White’s visions were the result of a diseased organization or condition of brain or nervous system.” Dr. Fairfield, likewise an Adventist, and for years a physician in the same Sanatorium, wrote in 1887 that he had no doubt that her visions were “simply hysterical trances.  Age itself had almost cured her.”1 We may well pity the poor woman in her ill-health, but we cannot be sentimental about the seriousness of her teachings, which amount to blasphemy and are directly opposed to the Word of God.

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.” (II Peter 2:1)

Over the past few years, I have received many requests for a booklet on “the cults.” I have never written such a booklet, because there are simply too many cults in our midst. It would take a sizable BOOK to properly expose the many cults and heresies that exist. Besides, other fine authors have already produced some very good books on this subject that have been a blessing to Christians for many years. I really have not seen a NEED for a new BOOK on the cults. Read the rest of this entry »

A Short History Timeline for "the Truth"

The origin and history of this movement are well documented in public records, in press coverage, through the statements, letters and sermon notes from early workers and friends. Unfortunately, those of us residing outside the British Isles have been told a story which differs radically from the truth.

Distinguishing Characteristics

A group of “workers” at an early “Convention.”
The two men in the front row are George Walker (l) and founder William Irvine (r).

The Two-by-Twos are the largest of three existing groups which branched off from a religious movement founded at the end of the nineteenth century by William Irvine. The other two groups are those who continue to follow the founder (known as “The Testimony”) and the the followers of early “Worker” Edward Cooney (known to outsiders as “Cooneyites”). None of the three groups acknowledge an official name, although the Two-by-Twos’ ministers have officially, albeit clandestinely, registered and incorporated incorporated under official denominational names for the group in many countries.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

2 Corinthians 11:13

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2 Peter 2:1

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

The Plain Truth about the Lodge

The Masons have been around for many centuries. Masons claim that their organization finds its roots with the builders of King Solomon’s temple, but others trace its origin to the Ancient Pagan Mysteries. According to Pike’s Morals and Dogma, Buddha was a Mason some one thousand years before Christ. The first Grand Lodge was founded in London in 1717. Read the rest of this entry »

By Gerald L. Caldwell

This study will be on the 7th Day Adventist. This cult began in the early 19th century by William Miller (1782-1849), who was a FALSE PROPHET! He predicted that the Lord Jesus Christ would return to Earth in glory on Mar. 21, 1844, and later on Oct. 22, 1844! Neither prophecy was fulfilled!

Deuteronomy 18:20-22 “But the PROPHET, which shall presume to speak A WORD in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall WE KNOW the word which the LORD HATH NOT SPOKEN? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if THE THING follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD HATH NOT SPOKEN, but the prophet hath spoken it PRESUMPTUOUSLY: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”

The FALSE PROPHET is identified by speaking “A WORD” that does not come to pass. It does not matter how many times he’s correct, it’s how many times he’s WRONG! Just ONE error is sufficient to make one a false prophet, regardless of whether he was correct 3000 times. When prophesying, the prophet is to bat nothing short of a 1.000. In other words, his prophesying MUST be accurate EVERY time–not 99.9% of the time. Therefore, William Miller was undoubtedly a FALSE PROPHET!

The Bible vs. The Jehovah's Witnesses

In 1870, at the age of eighteen, an ex-Congregationalist by the name of Charles Taze Russell started a Bible class in Pittsburgh. In 1876, the class elected Russell as their Pastor.

He founded the "Herald of the Morning" in 1879, which eventually developed into what is known today as "The Watchtower Announcing Jehovah's Kingdom." Today this publication has grown to over seventeen million copies per month in over one hundred languages.

In 1884, Russell incorporated the "Zion's Watch Tower Tract Society" at Pittsburgh. Today this organization has branches in over one hundred countries, and it has missionary works in over two hundred and fifty. With over one-half million volunteer workers, the Jehovah's Witnesses have become a serious threat to Bible believers throughout the world.

The Plain Truth about the Mormons

The Mormon movement began with “the prophet” Joseph Smith, Jr. in the year 1820. Joe (as he was known) was born to some rather strang parents in 1805. His mother, Lucy, was involved in occult practices and visions, while his father, Joseph, Sr., consumed much time with imaginary treasure digging (including the booty of Captain Kidd).
