Many who promote these corruptions are simply unwary Christians, ignorant of the nature of changes in them, having gullibly trusted the recommendation of their favorite preacher or “ scholar.” Others are aware they make textual changes but are so blinded by Satan they see no need for concern. However, neither group acts as if Satan is even interested in God’ s word. On the contrary the questioning and corruption of God’ s word is Satan’ s primary ambition (Gen. 3:1), and it should come as no surprise to any Christian that his ambition would be manifested in counterfeit, imitation “ Bibles.”

Satan is very subtle and clever. His phony “ Bibles” resemble the true Bible (KJV) enough to fool a gullible and unsuspecting believer, yet they are corrupt enough to cast doubt on the very doctrines this believer believes! They question and demean the integrity his Savior while advancing Satan’ s “ New Age” agenda! Christian Beware!

“Discernment” in the Holy Scriptures is demonstrated in the ability to “discern judgment” {either “spiritual judgment” (given by God) or “carnal judgment” (acquired by man)}; or the ability to discern both “time and judgment” {either “spiritual judgment” (given by God) or “carnal judgment” (acquired by man)}.

However, the main “meaning” and use of the word discern in the Holy Scriptures has to do with the ability (given by God) to be able to discern between “good & evil”; “good & bad”; “clean & unclean”; and “righteous & wicked”. This kind of discernment is of a “spiritual” nature and can not be taught by man or acquired through carnal means (i.e. schooling).

It is my firm belief that the basic “problem” with most of today’s “Christian Schools” (Primary, Secondary, Colleges, Universities, and Seminaries), and nearly all of the many “Christian” Schools established since the beginning of the Reformation, is the adoption of worldly and carnal teaching “methods” (Humanistic courses, curriculum, and programs - aimed solely at the mind). Or to put it another way - “Bible” or “Christian” subjects are being taught simply for the sake of “knowledge” alone, with very little thought (or care, or consideration) about genuine “spiritual” understanding and discernment (based on the words of God as found in the Holy Bible). Genuine Biblical “spiritual” understanding and discernment involves the exercise of not only the “faculty” of our mind, but also the “faculties” of our heart and of our conscience.

The failure to discern the difference between “knowledge”, “understanding”, and “wisdom”; the failure to understand which of our “substances” and “faculties” are involved in obtaining these things, and the failure to acknowledge where ALL true “spiritual” knowledge, understanding, and wisdom come from, reveals the fatal flaw in practically all modern day teaching methods and instruction (including “Christian” Schools & Universities and “Bible” Schools & Colleges).

To teach only “knowledge”, with an emphasis directed almost exclusively to the mind, is to IGNORE - the SOURCE (Almighty God) of ALL true “spiritual” knowledge, understanding, and wisdom; and to DISCOUNT the CRITICAL PART that our “spirit” and “heart” play in obtaining these things; and to OVERLOOK the OPERATION, PURPOSE, and FUNCTION that our “heart” serves in our daily lives.

The problem is that Acts 2:38 isn't the only verse in the Bible which deals with salvation. While many claim to "speak where the scriptures speak and remain silent where the scriptures are silent," they practically ignore most of the New Testament teaching on salvation. The only verses that such false teachers quote and reference are the ones they feel they can use to promote their "water gospel." The fact is that most of what the New Testament says about salvation doesn't include baptism at all! The few places that do mention water baptism do not include it as part of one's salvation. Water baptism follows salvation as one of the first steps of obedience for the new believer.
