Culture, Yogurt, Cheese and other Things

Culture /Cul ture/ (kl tr; 135), n. [F. culture, L. cultura, fr. colere to till, cultivate; of uncertain origin. Cf. Colony.]
1. The act or practice of cultivating, or of preparing the earth for seed and raising crops by tillage; as, the culture of the soil. 2. The act of, or any labor or means employed for, training, disciplining, or refining the moral and intellectual nature of man; as, the culture of the mind.3. The state of being cultivated; result of cultivation; physical improvement; enlightenment and discipline acquired by mental and moral training; civilization; refinement in manners and taste.
Culture /Cul ture/ v. t. [imp. & p. p. Cultured (trd; 135); p. pr. & vb. n. Culturing.] To cultivate; to educate.

Meditate about the above meanings deeply then consider what our Lord knew about the beginning from the end, he knew  world cultures work against the word of God and not for it.  This is teaching on culture given by our Lord Jesus during his earthly ministry.  Let us look at the explanation he gave to the disciples of his parable of the sower,  it only drives home the truth about culture and what it does.

Matthew 13:18-23 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.  When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.  But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.  He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.  But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Jesus is the sower of the word of God, he came to educate and prepare Israel and the world for his kingdom.  He knew that the world and Satan had already for years been cultivating its affects on the intellects and hearts of man.  We have even seen in our days by those we deal with in trying to give them the word of God.

There is the one hardened, bitter, angry by the things of this world often exalting their intelligence over another as a way to make themselves or more value or worth.  Then there is the pleasure seeker who has no real pleasure in life and searches for more and more drugs, alcohol, sex, thrill seeking.  They are never able to come to a place of peace and must seek more and more ways of excitement, pleasure and thrills or they are not happy.  Then there is the one who sit in silence locked away with their books filling there head with all sorts of knowledge but having no where to apply what they have learned often they will turn to the supernatural seeking connection with inner self or with some supposed higher being.  Then the one who quietly goes about his life working hard and investing gaining more and more money and things because his self worth is in the abundance of things and family.  Men will invent religions, governments, games, material things to possess and to make themselves busy and to keep their minds active.  Even if these things are destructive to themselves and the world around them.

Jesus knew all this before our modern society and its cultural influences on the men of this world.  He knew that culture fights against his word.  And even with that he said there was the heart that was of good ground able to grow in the grace, wisdom, knowledge, and love of God.  One that would produce fruit when the seed of the word came to maturity.

Today we are seeing seed planted in the hearts of Men they are getting saved, they are filling their heads with religious teachings and following men like the early Corinthians exalting men over the Lord.  They fill their days with all sorts of Knowledge while their hearts have no understanding of what it truly is they have taken into their hearts.  The seed of Gods word has swollen with the watering of men but no real root has come from it, no sprout and in the end no fruit.  The culture of this world is drowning out the seed of Gods word.  Swollen seeds left soaking in water will soon rot and stink.  Making them good for nothing except to be thrown out and ground back into the earth.

The culture of today is spreading a rejection of God's word even among those who call themselves God's people.  God’s word seems to take second place when you really look at our Christian lives.  We have the word of God yet we read it with hearts of pride not hearts of a child seeking to know God’s ways.  We have the ministry of prayer yet our prayers are self centered and self promoting.  The very Book that should be changing us is being watered down with our modern fast paced culture, and Christians are feed a steady diet of fast food Christianity.  The Seed that should be producing change in our hearts has become a ground for division and exhalation of ourselves instead of lives that glorify the very God who saved us.

Brother George said, “CULTURE” conquers nearly all those who are born into it; or who are overcome by it; or who willingly embrace it. From the perspective of history: Biblical Christianity has fractured a Culture (e.g. the early Pauline churches), and it can divide people from their culture (e.g. all genuine Bible believers), but true Biblical Christianity has never conquered a Culture.”

I am afraid that modern media social culture has overcome the Christians and Biblical Christianity.  The churches have been conquered and they are of little use to God and each day we are seeing more and more Christian fall by the wayside of meager Christian life just waiting for their days to be completed while their very lives show forth no real fruit. It seems many Christians have been conquered by modern cultural norms of the world, and the word of God is of no effect because of the influences of this modern media crazed culture.

Jesus was tempted with every temptation that the cultures of this world can offer food, fame, and fortune when the Devil tempted him in the wilderness.  He overcame these by the Word of God but it seems like many Christians, while holding the word of God in their hands, fail to know how to use the sword of the spirit that God has given them to overcome this worlds cultural influences and fleshly appetites.  And it comes out in the  way they react, treat and lord themselves over their brothers in Christ, and as hypocrisy to those of the world.

Have we forgotten what Jesus Christ said, John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. and the teaching of our Apostle Paul, Gal 5:16, 17 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.   For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Psalm 49:3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart [shall be] of understanding.

Aloha Brother Chette,

Image  Brother, AMEN!

We are clearly living in "the last days".

2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

The apostasy within the church of God has grown by leaps and bounds in the last 50 years - to the point where it's practically impossible to know who to believe or who to trust.

2 Corinthians 11:12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

From my personal experiences and observations (over the last four years) concerning so-called  King James Bible Believing Forums, I have come to the tragic conclusion that: Just because someone professes to be a King James Bible believer doesn't necessarily make them a genuine Bible believer. As true Bible believers we are obligated to compare the "works" of men (pastors, etc.) who claim to be the "ministers of God", with the "works" of the true "ministers of God" (James, John, Peter, Paul, and even the Lord Jesus Christ) and if the "works" do not line up with the true "ministers of God" we are to have no fellowship with them. And we must examine the "fruits" of those who profess to be Bible believers with the "fruit of the Spirit" [Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:9-10], and if the "fruit" is lacking (or non-existent) we should AVOID those people and have nothing to do with them. There is no spiritual profit or edification in "dialoguing" (discussing, debating, or arguing) with false teachers ("ministers") or with "Christians" whose "works" and/or "fruits" do not measure up to Scriptural standards or requirements.

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
